Interfaith funeral services

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides,
that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

on death - kahlil gibran

When somebody close to you dies, the thought of putting together a unique and fitting funeral ceremony can feel completely overwhelming.

This can be especially so if the idea of a traditional religious service really doesn't fit the person concerned.

Finding the right prrson to help you create a beautiful, heartfelt ceremony that truly reflects the essence of the deceased, can help to lighten your load.

If the deceased was of a particular faith, then you can quite simply contact the officiating leader of that faith.
If the deceased had absolutely no faith at all, no belief in God or spirit and you want a completely non-religious non-spiritual funeral, then a humanist officiant might well be the answer.

If however, you want a ceremony somewhere in the middle if those two things, perhaps a spiritual serrvice, or maybe a ceremony that can incorporate elements from several faiths, an interfaith minister could be just the right person to help you.

I have been helping people to create unique and meaningful funeral services for two years. sometimes the ceremonies are quite traditional and sometimes they are very different.

Readings are selected from many different sources both religious and non-religious, songs are sung or played, perhaps hymns if appropriate. Whatever feels right and is reflective of the deceased, can be tailored into a beautiful, dignified ceremony.
